Shirley was employed with General Motors until her retirement in September of 2006 with 32 years of service. She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church in Muncie, Order of Eastern Star 411 Upland Chapter, and U.A.W. Local 2209.
Survivors include loving mother Geneva P. White of Muncie; children Jim (Gina) Litteral of Adams, Tennessee, Joe (Melissa) Blackmer of Gaston, Jeff (Connie) Blackmer of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Amanda (Kendrick) Shadoan of Muncie; step-children April (Brad) Neal of Redkey, Robert (Deandra) Harter of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Pam Wilson of Muncie; 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Glen White, son Jason Blackmer, and grandson Cory New.
Friends may call on Tuesday July 2, 2013 from 4-8 pm with an Order of Eastern Star service at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with calling one hour prior. The Reverend Colby Smith will officiate.
